Cotton Candy: The Metamorphosis Of
From granule to fluff. A deeper look into the making of cotton candy.
In each layer you can see a different element of the process. Beginning with the sugar granules under a microscope. Next the spinning element, continuously twisting like a vortex until finally the cotton candy is fluffy and complete. All coming together into a bursting kaleidoscope of color.
This is an original hand painted piece of artwork. A compilation of colorful teal, magenta, and periwinkle sinewy abstract clusters, spread amidst pastel florescent art deco patterns. While deeper inside the lines, the detail exposes grids and swirls, for added texture. a pop of silver leaf had been added for an ever-deeper dimension. All set against a stark white background.
Canvas is prepped with gesso, then the pattern is sketched out. I then lay down the base line work. Next, I put down the base colors in the color blocking. Then lay down the leafing. Finally, I add the depth to the vortexes, by adding extra layers and shading. Then finish the sinewy designs with their shading and highlights. Finishing touchups and definition is then added. The painting is completed with a matte varnish.
Then signed, dated, and numbered on the back. Each painting is wired for hanging.
